Superior, AZ is about 65 miles east of Phoenix, located between Picket Post Mountain and the Apache Leap escarpment, and is surrounded by the Tonto National Forest.

Superior is a historic mining town and was the site of Magma Copper from 1912 to 1996. Currently, Superior is home to Resolution Copper which is in the process of permitting and developing a world-class copper mine.
